Cape Town – In honour of World AIDS Day on Friday, Charlize Theron shared a mini-documentary showcasing the purpose of her recent visit to South Africa.
ICYMI Charlize Theron, Trevor Noah and Chelsea Handler travelled across South Africa as part of Charlize’s charity, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) and in participation with Life Choices - a grantee of CTAOP and an initiative that works with youth to tackle inequality and provide them with opportunities to make a difference.
The doccie - which the Atomic Blonde actress shared a clip of on Instagram - shows the various locations the trio visited as well as shares the stories of youths struggling in this HIV/AIDS era.
The aim of the doccie - filmed by Change for Balance - and the mission of CTAOP is “to invest in African youth so that they can keep themselves safe from HIV,” says CTAOP Program Director Lorrie Fair Allen.
This includes providing “program grants and capacity building grants” to make organisations helping youths more effective and efficient.
