Cape Town – Animal Rights activists took over Amy Schumer’s NYC book signing on Wednesday.
The Trainwreck actress was in the midst of celebrating her new book, The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo, when a group of protesters barged into Barnes & Noble shunning her for wearing a coat made by a clothing manufacturer.
TMZ reports the protesters were upset by Amy’s wardrobe choice when she wore the coat made by Canada Goose, a company that allegedly engages in animal cruelty.
After storming in with signs, Amy tried to calm the angry crowd down by explaining herself but the protesters were later removed by security.
A rep for Amy told TMZ the 35-years old was given the coat as a gift by Canada Goose and was unaware of the allegations. She tossed the jacket out as soon as she heard about it.
