Los Angeles - Ryan Gosling was traumatised by an '"awful Turkish massage".
The Nice Guys actor revealed his attempts to relax went terribly wrong when he wound up with a mouthful of "belly hair" from his masseur.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, he said: "I had an awful experience having a Turkish massage where this guy's idea of massage was to take one leg and the other arm and try to connect it behind my back. And then his belly went in my mouth.
"And you know when you get something weird in your mouth and, if you're eating something, your brain sends your tongue to figure out what it is? It's not a conscious thought. My tongue was like, 'What is that?' It's a hairy belly!"

Meanwhile, Ryan, 35, recently revealed he has quit smoking after he unexpectedly gassed himself on the lung-damaging fumes while shooting The Nice Guys, in which he portrays chain-smoking private investigator Holland March.
He explained: "I use to smoke, but in this movie I smoked myself out. I never want another cigarette again!
"It really is the greatest way to quit - it's hard to come by - you really have to get a film where you have to smoke all the time, but I highly recommend it if you are trying to quit."
