We chat to the hot SA couple that got engaged on stage at Adele's concert

Cape Town – We had a quick chat with the South African couple that got engaged at one of Adele’s shows in Barcelona.

Ross Levin and Nicholas Markovitz got engaged on Tuesday night with Adele serenading them and this is how it happened.

'It wasn't easy'

Proposing on Adele’s stage doesn’t happen easily. Ross says when he decided to propose to his boyfriend of four years it had to be absolutely unforgettable, that’s when he thought why not at Adele’s concert.

The Capetonian sent Adele’s management two e-mails and received no reply. He then approached the head of a company who happened to be related to a member of Adele’s management team.

"I contacted the owner and I got a reply saying that he has received my message and will pass it on."

To take it a little further Ross got hold of Cheryl Cole’s assistant who knows Adele’s assistant.

"I just wanted to make sure they knew that we are just two regular guys that are in love and that I wanted to show Nick just how serious I was.

"The hardest part of the whole experience was that I wasn't really in control of what was happening and I knew I just had to keep pushing to make it happen."

'There was no plan B so plan A had to work!'

While the whole thing was never really confirmed, Ross kept his secret and stayed positive.

He received great tips from Adele’s management to catch her attention.

"They told me to make sure Adele would see us so we made this huge sign but the security was so tight we weren’t allowed to stand or wave our sign at all."

But that didn’t stop Ross from making his plan a reality. Grabbing Nicholas’ hand he pushed his way to the front of the stage.

"I said to Nick ‘follow me’ and we found our way to the front of the stage. Standing there I was so overcome with emotion I just broke down."

Adele saw them, called them up on stage and the rest is history.

Ross says: "There I was on one knee proposing to my boyfriend with Adele serenading us, it was absolutely surreal!"

'Maybe Adele will come to the wedding'

So what’s next for the happy couple? Will Adele be at the wedding?

While Ross and Nicholas are over the moon with how the proposal turned out (and still can’t believe it actually happened) Ross says their wedding will definitely be more low-key with only friends and family present.

"We’ll have to give it some thought and be creative but it could happen on an exotic island with close friends and family and maybe even a mega super-star."
