Weird Vanity Fair article calls Australians 'throwback people'

2016-07-07 14:54

Cape Town – Margot Robbie did a profile interview with Vanity Fair but the internet is not impressed.

While the Australian born actress spoke highly of her native country the article’s curious version of what Australia is like takes the spotlight and not in a good way.

Here are 4 quotes from the intro of the interview that confused us:

1. “She is tall but only with the help of certain shoes. She can be sexy and composed even while naked but only in character.”

2. “Australia is America 50 years ago, sunny and slow, a throwback, which is why you go there for throwback people.”

3. “In the morning, they watch Australia’s Today show. In other words, it’s just like America, only different.”

4. “An ambitious Australian actor views Hollywood the way the Martians view Earth at the beginning of The War of the Worlds.”

Here is how the internet reacted:

If you are still keen to go Down Under however, Margot has your back with 50 Australian slang terms to keep you in the cool with the Ozzies.
