Why Armie Hammer quit Twitter

Cape Town – Armie Hammer has set the record straight as to why he really quit Twitter.

ICYMI, the Call Me By Your Name actor deleted his Twitter earlier this week.

Rumours that he deleted it because of an article Buzzfeed published about the actor spread quickly prompting him to explain his reasoning.

During TheWrap's Screening Series in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, Hammer said that the real reason he quit the social media site was because he has an impulse to reply to people’s comments and it never ends well.

“I just have no impulse control so if somebody says something stupid, I couldn't help but say something back, and then it just exploded. This is a toxic environment, and my life is way better off.”

Hammer added that as surprising as it may be to some, it was easy to get rid of it.

This comes after Hammer replied to Buzzfeed’s article titled 10 Long Years of Trying to Make Armie Hammer Happen, on Twitter.

According to E! News, the 31-year-old defended himself against the site’s notion that the actor had been given way too many second chances in Hollywood because he is a straight, white male before deleting his account.

He reportedly tweeted: “Your chronology is spot on but your perspective is bitter AF," he wrote.

"Maybe I'm just a guy who loves his job and refuses to do anything but what he loves to do…?”
