Kiddie TV veteran and Survivor SA contestant Sade Giliberti is apparently majorly peeved off that she wasn't told that she was nominated or invited to the SAFTAS where she won the award for Best Presenter of a Variety Show (So You Think You Can Dance).
Of course, the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) say she was indeed invited (somewhere there was a wrong e-mail address). However, according to The Times, the communications officer Naomi Mokhele expressed that they couldn't tell her she was nominated as she was the only nominee in the category, so she would have known she was the winner.
Isn't that a bit of a false victory? She beat herself and herself - woohoo.
Sade needn't feel too sorry for herself having to celebrate on her own. Most winners seemed so embarrassed at receiving their awards on stage, so they actually spared her. Say thank you, Sade.
Do you think it means anything to win a SAFTA in our local entertainment industry today?
