The Hoff helps Patricia with her hassle

2009-07-16 08:41

Thanks to a brilliant PR team and ferocious marketing, you probably already know that David Hasselhoff was recently in SA to record a duet with the poor Patricia Lewis. She's going to have growths cut out of her throat and the operation could damage her vocal chords.

It seems David's willing to fight for more than just a hamburger (remember that video?). His website claims that he's got heart "by flying halfway across the world to stand by an ailing singer friend who may never sing again." Ja, because there just happened to be an immediate gap in his bustling tour schedule. And of course the possibility of Patricia losing her 'ability' to sing is just horrifying! It's almost as bad as when they cancelled Baywatch.

They've recorded two duets; an English one called "As I Am" and an Afrikaans treffer called, wait for it, "Miss Kiss Kiss Bang".

Check out the video below to hear why David thinks he and Patricia should get credit for being smart.  Around the 4:06 mark you can hear about a minute of their duet, "As I Am".

Which other South African singer should duet with The Hoff next? I'm thinking Emmanuel Castis for starters...
