The track "You and I" is off their latest album, "Against All Odds". It's one of their better songs, but even a rice cake's got more flavour than this 3 and a ½ minute video that doesn't do the track justice at all. The video shows Laudo and a girl on a bed, while the rest of the band sits staring into space, tinkering on their instruments. Maybe I'm over-simplifying it, but hey, who wants to philosophise over a pop video?
Like someone else put it: "You can't just put them in a room looking emo". That's right – it's more of an album slideshow than a video. The most rock 'n rolling member, Jaco 'Snakehead' Venter, is contemplatively shot drinking a cup of tea! And lead singer Laudo spends almost the entire video with his eyeballs glued to the token pretty girl in underwear. It's like one big wildlife documentary chronicling every species of music video cliché.
We're sadly disappointed at this most unimaginative offering. Boo!
Watch it and tell us if you've got our back, or you think we're whack.
