3 OTT Movie Storm Scenes

2012-10-30 10:53
When disaster strikes, is this really what it looks like? We take a look at some outrageous movie storm scenes.
While Hurricane Sandy is having its way with the eastern US, the internet has been buzzing with fake pictures of the floods and damage.

Rather check out News24's galleries for a real account of what's been happening.

However, it did make us think of movie storm scenes that have scared us senseless!

Perhaps they're overstated, perhaps this damage IS possible, but either way - it makes for insane viewing.

Here are our Top 3 OTT Movie Storms:

The Perfect Storm
George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg bravely take on the mother of all waves in this heartbreaking drama about fishermen battling the elements. It's so sad!

The Day After Tomorrow
Jake Gyllenhaal and Dennis Quaid star in the movie where the Statue of Liberty gets washed away by a giant wave. It's eye-poppingly destructive. Watch the key scene here.

Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton chase a few twisters, and they get them alright! In this scene their bakkie gets caught right in the eye of the twister while a few cows go flying by. Crazy stuff.

While we all love an OTT disaster movie every now and then, the damage and destruction taking place in the US at the moment is no laughing matter. Our hearts go out to everyone affected.
