Like Cry Freedom, Endgame is a British production and based on The Fall of the Apartheid by Robert Harvey. It tells the story of how the covert negotiations in England between an exiled ANC delegation and a small group of Afrikaner intellectuals led to the release of Nelson Mandela and the end of apartheid. It's a side of the freedom struggle story that may not be familiar to many South Africans, whose enduring memory of the end of apartheid was the sight of Nelson Mandela walking free after 27 years in prison. After airing on US television in 2009, it finally gets a local release on 11 June, 2010.
