Cape Town – Winter is upon us and what better way to spend those cold, rainy days than under a blanket with some hot chocolate and popcorn in front of the TV with one of your favourite movies.
We list some of our favourite movies to pop into the DVD player this winter.
1. Notting Hill (1999)
Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, this doesn’t need any explanation.
2. Footloose (1984)
This classic will warm you up and get your feet moving!
3. The Holiday (2006)
Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet exchange homes and end up getting a bit more than they bargained for. This movie is escapism at its best.
4. You’ve Got Mail (1998)
Watching Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks fall hesitantly in love will make you swoon.
5. The Harry Potter series (2001 - 2011)
Movie marathon right here!
6. The Blind Side (2009)
Sandra Bullock’s Oscar winning performance in this inspirational true life drama will banish the winter chills.
7. The Fast and the Furious (2001)
Love it or hate it the original movie is still one of the best. Fast cars and a hot cast will warm you up real quick.
8. Pad Na Jou Hart (2014)
This is one of the best local romantic comedies to have hit the movie circuit last year. This little road trip movie in which a boy and girl falls in love is perfect for an afternoon stay in. *wink wink*
9. Friday (1995)
A stoner buddy comedy that will bring on LOLs.
10. Training Day (2001)
Denzel Washington. That is all.
