Cape Town - Guillermo del Toro’s award-winning cold war era fantasy The Shape of Water opens in cinemas this weekend. 

Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is a mute, isolated woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore. Her life changes forever when she discovers the lab's classified secret – a mysterious, scaled creature.

Also showing: Andy Serkis makes his directorial debut with a biopic about Robin Cavendish, a British advocate for disabled people. Kate Mara stars in the true-life story of a soldier and her service dog and the fourth instalment of the horror franchise, Insidious
