5 movies you should watch to destroy the Valentine's Day spirit

2014-02-14 07:00
Cape Town - It’s that time of the year when the shops bring out those tacky hearts and mugs and roses and chocolates and when every possible romantic comedy re-runs on television. Yes, folks Valentine’s Day is upon us.

If you're just not feeling all this lovey dovey stuff, these are the movies you should watch this weekend.

1)   Kill Bill Volume 1

The perfect revenge movie. The Bride hunts down all her ex colleagues who killed members of her wedding party and who tried to kill her. It’s a blood and gore fest, nothing romantic to see here.

2)    Fatal Attraction

An extra-marital affair can be all fun and games until your mistress turns psycho on you. A man meets a woman over a weekend away and she refuses to let it end, she becomes obsessed, stalks him and tries to kill him. Nobody wants this kind of loving.

3)    Paranormal Activity

Who can think about love and romance while the crap is being scared out of you? There is nothing romantic about this couple being haunted.

4)    Romeo and Juliet

I know what you’re thinking how can the ‘most romantic movie ever’ make this list. Well this is not a story about love; this is a story about death, a tragedy.  Die for love? I think not.

5)  The War of the Roses

When the love turns sour this couple fight till the death. These spouses have a full on war to see who can kill whom first.
