Los Angeles – Musical fans are in for a treat this summer!

You get the best of both worlds: you get lost in beautiful music and mesmerised by amazing performances.

Hollywood has been cooking up a feast of musical films that will hit cinemas this summer.

Here are five musicals you can't afford to miss.

1) Get On Up

This film chronicles the life and career of soul singer James Brown. It is set to be released on 7 November 2014.

2) Walking on Sunshine

This British romantic musical features covers of hit songs from the 1980s. X Factor winner Leona Lewis makes her big screen debut. The film is set to be released on 12 December 2015.

3) Into The Woods

Based on the Tony-winning musical by James Lapine, Into the Woods is a modern twist on the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The film is set to be released on 2 January 2015.



4) Annie

The popular musical gets a modern remake. The film starring Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz and Quvenzhané Wallis is set to hit cinemas on 30 January 2015.



5) The Last Five Years

Based on the musical by Jason Robert Brown the film stars Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. It chronicles a love affair and marriage over a five year period. It is set to hit cinemas on 20 February 2015.
