5 proudly South African facts from the movie Blended


Cape Town – We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world so it’s always great to see it showcased in a big Hollywood movie.

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore’s familymoon movie Blended was shot on location at the tourist attraction Sun City.

Here are five other proudly South African things in the movie:

1. Cricketer Dale Steyn makes his acting debut playing himself.



2. Cape Town band Hot Water is featured on the Blended soundtrack. Their song Wamkelekile is the only South African song to make the tracklist.



3. There are a number of well known South African faces in the film, the most notable is Josette Eales who played Sarah Van Reenen in The Wild.

4. The Thatoo Harmony group featured in the movie is the renowned South African a cappella group known as Junior Mambazo, led by Nkosinathi Shabalala.



5. Parts of the production were shot at Pilanesberg Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park.



Blended starts in cinemas nationwide on 4 July.
