A superhero for the new world: Black Captain America

Los Angeles – The new Captain America will be black.

Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada announced that Sam Wilson aka The Falcon will take up the shield in the new Marvel comic out this spring, All-New Captain America.

This is the second biggest change announced after Marvel revealed earlier this week that the new Thor will be a woman.

According to Buzzfeed, the new installment has been written by Rick Remender with artwork by Stuart Immonen. After the original Captain American, Steve Rogers loses his super human abilities and ages instantaneously, he passes the shield to his long time friend Sam Wilson.

Writer Remender said on Marvel.com: "I think that it’s important with these stories to do things that are natural and make sense and have an inherent logic to the universe, but are also constantly shifting and exciting, keeping the drama high. In order to do that it really comes down to creating new dynamics."
