Aaron Paul has a Need for Speed

Los Angeles - Aaron Paul has signed up to star in a Need for Speed movie.

The actor - best known for his Emmy-winning role as meth dealer Jesse Pinkman on the hit TV series Breaking Bad - will head up the adaptation based around the popular computer game series.

The film will be helmed by Scott Waugh - who recently completed Act Of Valour - who will direct for Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks studio.

A spokesperson for the studio said the film will be "rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise.
