Adam Brody loved his porn moustache

Los Angeles - Adam Brody wanted to keep his massive moustache after Lovelace.

The 33-year-old actor - who is dating Leighton Meester - plays porn star Harry Reems in the Linda Lovelace biopic, and fell in love with his character's huge facial hair so much he nearly couldn't bring himself to shave it off.

He said: "There was a lot of laughter on set on Lovelace, especially filming the sex scenes. But my character isn't sexy - it's not about that.

"I have some great outfits though. And a giant moustache. I really wanted to find a reason to keep it!"

Adam's alter-ego Harry appeared in 1972 pornographic movie Deep Throat - a controversial film which was banned in several regions and was one of the first porn movies to feature a plot and character development - but The O.C. star claims he didn't watch the X-rated motion picture before playing the part.

He added to Now magazine: "I did lots of research - but only by watching documentaries. I've never watched the porn movie, honest!"
