Los Angeles - Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be released on 20 December 2013.
Producer Judd Apatow confirmed the highly anticipated follow up to the 2004 comedy movie Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy - which stars Will Ferrell as the titular San Diego newsman - will be hitting the big screen next year.
Taking to his Twitter account on Wednesday, he wrote: "One year from tomorrow Anchorman 2 will be in theaters!! It is kind of a big deal. (sic)"
'The most hilarious script'
Will has already confirmed he will reprise the titular role for the sequel, which Adam McKay will return to direct, and Judd revealed the pair have come up with an "hilarious" script, which he says is "more top secret than the next Star Wars."
He told MTV: "Adam McKay and Will Ferrell wrote it, Adam McKay directs it and they came up with the most hilarious script.
"We read it a few weeks ago and people were laughing so hard that at about 40 minutes in we all just ran out of gas. It was hard to read the whole thing because we got tired [from laughing].
"I've never seen anyone delight in playing a character than Will acting like Ron Burgundy all day. He's just so happy doing it it's infectious.
"I can't give it away because it's more secret than the next Star Wars. All I can say is that there are no Wookies in it. But it's top-secret."
