Los Angeles - Anna Kendrick is in talks to star in The Accountant.

According to Variety, the Pitch Perfect actress is in negotiations to appear in the action thriller alongside Argo star Ben Affleck.

However, it is thought the 29-year-old beauty is also being approached for several other pictures and is yet to confirm which she will be signing on to.

She also has a number of films set to hit cinemas in 2015 including Into The Woods, in which she stars as Cinderella, as well as Pitch Perfect 2, Mr. Right and The Hollars.

Also tipped to star in the movie - which will be directed by Gavin O'Connor - is Juno star JK Simmons, whose potential part in the flick is yet to be identified.

It is also yet to be confirmed which part Kendrick has entered into negotiations over.

The long-anticipated movie was previously set to star Mel Gibson before the rights were acquired by Sony who tipped Will Smith for the lead role.

Warner Brothers has now regained the rights to the picture - which follows a mild mannered accountant, played by Affleck, who also moonlights as an assassin.
