Los Angeles - Anne Hathaway is "very nervous" about her Yorkshire accent in
One Day.
The 28-year-old actress plays the leading role Emma Morley in the highly-anticipated adaptation of David Nicholls' romance novel, and she admits getting the vocal tone correct was hard for her to do.
She said: "I've never been so nervous about playing anyone as I was to play Emma. There were many reasons to say no to this part.
"One, because I didn't think I could pull it off. Two, I was very nervous about the Yorkshire accent."
HopeHowever, the Oscar-nominated beauty is not as concerned with criticism as she once was, because she no longer feels so much pressure about her work.
She told UK's Marie Claire magazine: "Success is such a subjective thing. Certainly when I was starting out, I just had this unbelievable pressure to get jobs, 'Gotta work! Gotta work!'
"I am hard on myself, but that has changed. Now I do it with hope."
Anne stars alongside Jim Sturgess in
One Day, which is released later this month in the US, and
after will be seen in the highly anticipated Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises as Catwoman.
