Los Angeles - Peyton Reed is in talks to helm an Ant-Man sequel.
The 51-year-old filmmaker directed the Marvel sci-fi movie earlier this year and he's currently locked in negotiations with the studio to lead Ant-Man and the Wasp, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Even before the studio confirmed the sequel, Peyton admitted he'd be interested in returning to the directing role, saying: "Listen, if we were lucky enough to be able to do a sequel or even a prequel, I'd be way into it.
"I've really fallen in love with these characters. I was always in love with the characters in the comic book world, but there's a lot of story to tell with Hank Pym."
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are both set to return for the sequel, but it's not yet known if the other members of the original cast will be reprising their roles.
Speaking earlier this year, Paul revealed he'd love to return to the part of Ant-Man for a movie sequel.
He said: "If we're fortunate enough to do another Ant-Man movie, I would love to do it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to release in July 2018.
