Santa Ana - A bit actor who appeared in the first "Austin Powers" movie has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the violent 1990 gang rape of a Southern California woman.
Orange County District Attorney spokesperson Farrah Emami said on Friday that 40-year-old Joseph Son was found guilty of one felony count of torture on August 25.
In 1997's Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Son wore a bowler hat and played one of Dr Evil's henchmen, named Random Task.
Sexually assaulted
Authorities say Son and a co-defendant abducted the then-20-year-old victim as she was walking her dog by her Huntington Beach apartment on Christmas Eve.
Son and his accomplice abducted her at gunpoint. The woman was repeatedly raped, sexually assaulted with the gun then released naked with her pants tied around her eyes.
A Santa Ana jury found Son guilty of one felony count of torture stemming from his arrest on October 7, 2008 on an outstanding warrant, reports E! News.
