Batman stuntwoman crashes into camera

Los Angeles - A cameraman has been hit by a motorbike after a stunt mishap on the set of Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises.

A stuntwoman dressed as Anne Hathaway's character Catwoman was steering the Batpod bike down the steps outside Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh for an action scene involving actors dressed as police officers fighting with fictional crooks when she accidentally collided with the IMAX camera operator.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the accident and the expensive equipment was not damaged.

Director Christopher Nolan is believed to be shooting the majority of the superhero sequel in Pittsburgh. It also stars Christian Bale, who is reprising his role as Batman, Tom Hardy as villain Bane and Sir Michael Caine, who returns as Alfred the Butler

The accident is not the first mishap to occur on set.

Anne injured a stuntman by hitting him with the butt of a gun after getting a "bit carried away" during a fight sequence.

A source previously said: "Anne got a bit carried away during a fight scene and mistakenly shoved the butt of a gun right into the actor's eye socket.

"He came away with a massive black eye. Anne was mortified."

The Dark Knight Rises will be released on July 20, 2012.
