Bloedsuiers filming not yet in progress

Cape Town – Afrikaans vampire film Bloedsuiers has not yet begun filming as was previously reported.

According to the film's producer Benjamin Cowley, pre-production is only scheduled to commence at the end of April, and filming at the end of May or early June 2011.

A "crowd-funding" campaign is being run on the Bloedsuiers website and calls on anyone to register on the site which will gain them access to a special members area where they will receive exclusive content, rewards and entry into various competitions which will not be open to the public.

Crowd funding

Cowley says that "the crowd funding application is still live on the website and support is pouring in from across the globe".

Recent statistics show that the Bloedsuiers website had in excess of 140 000 hits since its launch at the beginning of March.

DStv's music channel MK has also been screening the teasers after 21:00 on a regular basis in support of the film.

Bloedsuiers is an Afrikaans vampire horror, starring Inge Beckmann, Rob van Vuuren, Francois van Coke and André Roothmann, that tells the story of vampire hunters in Cape Town. Three gory teaser trailers for the movie have already gone viral.
