Breaking Dawn Part 2 poster unveiled

Cape Town - The official poster for the final movie in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 has been released, showing Edward and Bella in attack mode.

The poster was released on Tuesday by Summit Entertainment in a worldwide teaser countdown that saw sections of the poster image released on Facebook.

With a tantalising tagline that reads: "The epic finale that will live forever", the poster shows vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), his newly transformed wife Bella (Kristen Stewart), and their werewolf friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) rushing towards the viewer on a snow-covered battleground.

Surprise twist ending

The image recalls the scene from the trailer in which the Cullens and their allies do battle against the vampire royals the Volturi who are out to destroy Edward and Bella's daughter Renesmee, who was born towards the end of Breaking Dawn Part 1.

Renesmee, played by 11-year-old newcomer Mackenzie Foy, is absent from the poster.

The final movie in Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire will reportedly feature a new surprise twist ending that is described as "fitting" for the last Breaking Dawn movie adaptation. Twi-hards have already been primed to stay through the end credits of the new movie.

The books and movies have given rise to an obsessive fanbase whose appetite for the movie release has no doubt been magnified by the off-screen relationship troubles endured by the movie's co-stars and real-life lovers Pattinson and Stewart.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is set for release in 3D on 16 November in South Africa and the US.

Nu Metro have already opened bookings for special pre-release screenings on Thursday, 15 November at 22:00 and 23:59.
