New York - Will Smith, Jared Leto and Tom Hardy are suiting up for DC Comics' super villain team-up film Suicide Squad.
Warner Bros confirmed the much anticipated casting of the film in an announcement on Tuesday.
Will Smith will star as Deadshot, Tom Hardy will play the group's leader, Rick Flagg, and Jared Leto will follow in Heath Ledger's footsteps by taking on the Joker.
The rest of the gang will be Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn; Jai Courtney as Boomerang; and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
David Ayer, who recently released the World War II tank thriller Fury, is set to write and direct the film.
Suicide Squad is to be released in August 2016.
