Charlize Theron bags role meant for Brad Pitt

Cape Town – Sony Pictures is currently in talks with Charlize Theron take over a role originally meant for Brad Pritt.

According to Deadline Charlize has been approached to play the lead in the crime thriller The Gray Man based on the book series by Mark Greaney. A CIA agent turned assassin has to protect the children they never they had.   

Her production company Denver and Delilah are said to come aboard as producers.

This is not the first time a role has been gender swapped.

After Tom Cruise bowed out of the spy role in Salt Angelina Jolie went on to fill his shoes.

More recently Sandra Bullock’s role in the movie Our Brand Is Crisis which premiered at the Toronto film festival earlier this year was originally meant for George Clooney, who went on to act as producer for the film.
