Los Angeles – Chloe Moretz has signed up for new movie Dance of the Mirlitons.
The Kick-Ass starlet will appear in the Evan Greenberg-directed indie drama, alongside Kristen Bell, Jackie Earle Haley and Bailee Madison.
The film focuses on Bell's character, a young overbearing mother of an overweight ballerina hopeful (Madison), who will do anything to make her child a star.
Moretz will play the child's nemesis, while Hayley will take on the role of "a subtly sadistic Russian ballet teacher of the highest order".
As well as being directed by Greenberg, the movie will be produced by Daniel Dubiecki and Joel Michaely.
The last pieces of funding for the project are currently being put into place and if all goes well, shooting will begin next year.
As well as signing up for Dance of the Mirlitons, Moretz recently revealed she wants there to be a Kick-Ass sequel.
The 13-year-old actress – who played foul-mouthed assassin Hit Girl in the first movie – believes there is no doubt that director Matthew Vaughn will want to make a second film in the series.
She said: "Will there be a sequel? I don't know. Matthew said 50/50, but I reckon so, how could he not do it?"
