Los Angeles – Will Ferrell and Zach Galafianakis have signed up to work on an unnamed political comedy.
The Hollywood comedians will film the project - due for release during the US 2012 presidential elections - next year, with Warner Bros. winning the opportunity to house the script written by The Other Guys co-writer Chris Henchy.
Jay Roach will direct the movie, of which plot details have yet to be released, Deadline.com reports.
As well as starring in the film, Ferrell and Galafianakis will also produce it, alongside Adam McKay and Jay Roach.
Will - who recently branched out to his first non-comedy film with drama Everything Must Go - is currently promoting animated movie Megamind.
Zach has this year been seen in Due Date with Robert Downey Jr., and will next appear in The Hangover 2.
He is also filming a cameo in The Muppets and will voice the role of Humpty Dumpty in Puss in Boots.
