Cape Town - The end of Harry Potter is not only near - it is here.
Warner Bros have released the final trailer for the fantastical conclusion to the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
The 2.5-minute preview sheds more light on the final battle between Harry (played by Daniel Radcliffe) and his mortal enemy Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). Though the trailer leaves no doubt that Part 2 is the darkest, most perilous instalment in the series.
The trailer also looks back at the 11-year journey to the eighth and final film, with key moments from Harry's life included as he is introduced to the world of magic and arrives at Hogwarts for the first time in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, released in 2001.
Deathly Hallows: Part 2 concludes the final book in the series by JK Rowling, which was split into two films. The final film will also be screened in 3D after 3D plans for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 were scrapped due to time constraints.
The trailer also comes hot on the heels of a mysterious new website from Harry Potter author JK Rowling called Pottermore.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will be released in cinemas worldwide on July 15.
