Los Angeles - The first pictures of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan's daughter Renesmee, as she appears in the final Twilight movie Breaking Dawn Part 2, have been released and published by US magazine Entertainment Weekly.

The new photos grace two special edition covers of the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly.

Renesmee Cullen was conceived and born after a swift pregnancy in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, and because of her half-human, half vampire parentage, has aged exponentially after a short time.

She was conceived before her mother Bella was transformed into a vampire at the end of Breaking Dawn and her harrowing birth actually caused Bella to lose her human life and be transformed into a vampire at the last minute.

Renesmee is played by 11-year-old newcomer Mackenzie Foy who was glimpsed briefly in Breaking Dawn Part 1 as werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) "imprinted" on her by taking one look at Bella's newborn baby and seeing visions of her life as the young woman he would fall in love and spend his life with.

"It's a  hugely important part," director Bill Condon told Entertainment Weekly.

He especially loved watching Mackenzie and her onscreen parents, played by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, interact on set.

"They were amazing with her," he says. "It really brought something paternal out in Rob, and Kristen was especially protective."

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is set for release on 16 November and brings to a close the epic vampire saga based on the still-popular Stephenie Meyer novels.
