Cape Town – Van Coke Kartel lead singer Francois van Coke will be sinking his teeth into acting, in a new Afrikaans vampire movie called Bloedsuiers.
Sarie reports that the movie is about the existence of vampires in South Africa, who have been wandering around the country since the time of Jan van Riebeeck. Then, two aspiring vampire hunters in present-day Cape Town catches one of the vampires by mistake.
The cast consists of Van Coke, singer Inge Beckmann, Rob van Vuuren, better known as Twakkie, and veteran actor Andre Roothman.
Bloedsuiers is not an Afrikaans version of Twilight and will definitely not be for sensitive viewers. In December last year, Indigenous Film Distribution released their own South African vampire flick, Eternity, which starred Christina Storm, Hlomla Dandala and Ian Roberts.
