Helena Bonham Carter and Tim 'to take a break'?

Los Angeles - Helena Bonham Carter may not work with her partner, Tim Burton, again.

The actress has teamed with the director on films including Dark Shadows, Big Fish, Planet of the Apes and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the 12 years they have been together, but isn't sure if their working relationship will continue.

When asked if she has plans to appear in any of Tim's forthcoming projects at the Hamptons International Film Festival in New York, she replied: "I'm not sure (...) I think he must be getting sick of me."

A source added to the New York Post newspaper: "Carter said, 'It was nice to work with him when we were first involved.' But that Sweeney Todd was 'a disaster' because they were on each other's nerves. She said, 'Who knows? Maybe we'll never work together again.'"

Unfaithful

Helena's comments come two weeks after Tim - with whom she has children Billy, ten, and Nell, five - was seen with another woman, whom he appeared to kiss, after a cinema date in Hampstead, London.

Helena rubbished claims he had been unfaithful, with her representative saying: "This is absolute nonsense. The pictures were taken whilst they were out and the large group includes family, friends and work colleagues."

The couple have previously admitted to a turbulent working relationship, with them both admitting they weren't getting along during the making of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Tim saying he eventually took to shooting Helena with a Nerf foam pellet gun to relieve tension between them.

He said: "We've survived [as a couple], but it hasn't always been easy. Sweeney Todd was the worst; definitely the worst. But then I found out she was pregnant with Nell and it kind of all made sense."
