Los Angeles - Hugh Jackman has suggested he may retire from playing Wolverine.
The actor has played the claw-wielding superhero a staggering seven times on the big screen and says he made the most of filming the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past because it "may be the last" time he stars as the iconic Marvel comic book character.
He told MTV News: "It may be the last. By the way, it didn't hit me until three weeks before the end [of shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past], because we promoted The Wolverine and I came back on set with three weeks to go, and that's when I went, 'Well, who knows? Maybe there's no more Wolverine.
Maybe this is it. Who knows? Maybe.'
"So I really made the most of those last few weeks. I enjoyed every time I put the claws on."
'I'll hook you up'
Jackman first played the mutant hero in 2000's X-Men and claims he made sure to save a range of memorabilia to commemorate the last 13 years.
The 44-year-old star joked: "I nicked everything off the set, so Halloween, come to me and I'll hook you up."
The actor also hinted his solo appearance in The Wolverine will have big ramifications for X Men: Days of Future Past, which is due out in July next year, but he remained tight lipped on the details of the final scenes he filmed.
He teased: "If I tell you it is giving away literally the key scene, Literally, I would be killed. I cannot say one part of that scene."
