Iron Man told The Hulk that he would be in the new Captain America movie

Los Angeles - Mark Ruffalo has been told by Robert Downey Jr. he'll star in Captain America: Civil War.

The 47-year-old actor plays the Hulk in the Marvel films and has revealed the Iron Man star has already said he'll feature in the much-anticipated movie, even though it's still to be confirmed by the studio.

He told Hitflix: "If Robert Downey, Jr. says I'm in Captain America, I'm in Captain America dammit. And I will wait for the day that my call sheet shows up at my doorstep or my script.

"At this point, I'm told that I'm in it by Robert, which I'll take as biblical, but I just haven't heard or seen from production yet."

This comes shortly after Captain America star Chris Evans said the new film will see the superhero develop a serious love interest, even though he suspects the character is a virgin.

Chris said: "I think we really scratched the surface on something great and I think there's just so much to explore.

"Not just with the evolution of myself and [Anthony Mackie's character, Falcon], but the reconnection with Bucky, and ultimately a relationship with a woman."

Asked whether the next movie will feature a love interest, he said: "It's funny when you think about it - he's probably a virgin. He's probably a virgin! I don't know when it would've happened."
