It turns out SA has a kinky side

Cape Town – It's official! South Africans cannot wait to get in on some Fifty Shades of Grey action!

In fact, Ster-Kinekor has announced that pre-release screening tickets have already been sold out.

The demand to see the movie has even prompted the cinema house to open up an additional cinema at every one of their sites on Thursday, 12 February.

According to the cinema chain it is the widest opening of a film in the company’s history and pre-sales have already broken records and surpassed previous title holders Skylight, Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 and The Avengers.

Marketing Executive of Ster-Kinekor Theatres Doug Palace says: "In addition to the ‘Girlfriends’ Getaway’ ticket sales, pre-sales for the film online are also breaking records, as couples book for the hottest film on circuit this year, for Valentine’s Day.  The ‘love seats’ in both our commercial cinemas and Cine Prestige theatres were the first to be sold out!"

We know what South Africans will be getting up to this Valentine's weekend ...
