Los Angeles – Hollywood heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal is barely recognisable in the trailer of his latest movie, Nightcrawler.
He lost over 9.5kg for his role as freelance crime journalist who discovers the dark underworld of LA.
Jake’s dramatic weight loss was achieved without a special diet or exercise plan.
In an interview with US Weekly he explained that he knew his character was literally and figuratively hungry so he got into a mode where he was always hungry.
By the looks of the trailer this is Jake like we’ve never seen him before. He worked a 24 hour schedule and for the mirror scene in the trailer he had to go to hospital after injuring his hand.
The film also stars Bill Paxton and Rene Russo and will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
