Jason Statham: Stunt men don't get enough credit

Los Angeles - Jason Statham thinks stuntmen don't get enough credit for their daring performances.

The 46-year-old actor, who enacts his own stunts, understands how dangerous these scenes can be and is annoyed that the daredevil performers don't get the recognition they deserve from awards ceremonies like the Oscars because "poncy" actors pretend to be the hero.

Statham told Vanity Fair magazine, "All of the stuntmen - these are the unsung heroes. Nobody is giving them any credibility. They're risking their necks. And then you've got poncy actors pretending like they're doing [the stunts]."

"For me, it's a total injustice. [Stunt actors are] the ones getting busy. Then you have some guy standing in front of a f***ing green screen screwing his face up pretending like he's doing the stunt. To me, it's like a farce. I have a real frustration with that because I know these coordinators. I train with them all the time and they are incredibly talented."

The British action star recently finished filming The Expendables 3 and is currently shooting Fast & Furious 7, in which he will play the main antagonist.
