Los Angeles – Johnny Depp wants Brad Pitt or George Clooney to star alongside him in The Lone Ranger.
The Tourist actor – who is set to portray Native American Tonto in the adaptation of the 1950s TV show – is hopeful one of the two actors could appear as the title character in the movie but is unsure of any concrete plans.
He said: "There's so many interesting possibilities out there. Brad Pitt would be great, George Clooney would be great. Don't know who it's going to be just yet."
The 47-year-old hunk also reveals the Gore Verbinski-directed project will be sensitive in its representation of Tonto.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "Native Americans in cinema, over the past however many decades, have been treated somewhat shabbily. This one has plans to rectify that."
The movie will see Depp reteaming with Verbinski for the fourth time having worked with him on the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films.
There is currently no scheduled release date for the film.
