Jonah Hill joins Ben Stiller movie

Los Angeles - Jonah Hill has reportedly signed up for movie Neighborhood Watch.

The Superbad actor is thought to have finalised a deal to star alongside Ben Stiller - who will take up the lead role in the sci-fi film - playing Vince Vaughn's sidekick, who is said to have a rough, dark side.

The movie - which is set to be directed by Akiva Schaffer - tells the story of a neighbourhood watch group, who are a smokescreen for fathers in a suburban community to spend some bonding time together away from their families.

But the group ends up with more than they bargained for when they discover an alien plot to blow up the world.

Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jared Stern have penned the script for the motion picture, which is expected to arrive in US cinemas on July 27, 2012.

Hill was recently linked with the a role in Pitchfork after writer-directors Mark and Jay Duplass were reportedly interested in using the Get Him to the Greek star for a mother-son part in the movie.

He is set to star in Brad Pitt's baseball movie Moneyball next month, alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright and Chris Pratt.
