Jurassic Park 4 in cinemas 'in two years'

Los Angeles - Jurassic Park 4 will be released "within two years".

The long-awaited project - which has been in development for some time and was officially announced by Steven Spielberg last year - has seen work progress and is being eyed for a summer release since it is a "popcorn movie", producer Frank Marshall confirmed.

He told Collider.com: "I would say that it will be on the screen within two years."

Frank - who confirmed the film is a sequel, not a reboot or remake - believes the advances in visual effects will make the movie more exciting.

He said: "That's what's gonna be great about it, technology's taken a leap now that we can really do some great things."

However, he also said the practical dinosaurs and prosthetics used in previous films will still be utilised as they feel more real to the audience and aid the actors in their performance.

Last month, Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver were hired to write a script for the movie.

Spielberg is expected to produce the project, but will not direct it.
