Kings of Leon want to write Bond theme

London - Kings of Leon would be interested in writing the next James Bond theme tune.

Although drummer Nathan Followill has previously refused to work on a song for the movie franchise when asked by Daniel Craig - who portrays the iconic British spy - he and his brother, lead singer Caleb, have since had a change of heart.

Nathan said: "Hmmm... Daniel Craig has asked me before. I have turned him down three times already but maybe."

Caleb added in a Twitter chat with Vue cinemas: "I've always wanted to work with strings though so maybe yeah, that'll be a good excuse."

If the Tennessee rockers do decide to write the theme tune for the next instalment of the British spy movie franchise, they would be following in the footsteps of a host of other stars - most recently Jack White and Alicia Keys who performed "Another Way To Die" for 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace - who have sang the lead songs on the movies.

However, other artists including Lady Gaga and Michael Buble are also thought to be in contention.

A source said of Gaga recently: "The Bond bosses are all huge Gaga fans. Her sound and sense of drama make her the top choice.

"Gaga has the look as well as the voice to tackle a thundering ballad. She's a great songwriter too. This is perfect on every level."
