Lady Gaga 'furious' over biopic

Los Angeles - Lady Gaga is reportedly "furious" about plans for a biopic of her life.

The 25-year-old Born This Way singer is said to be "cringing" at the idea of having her rise to fame portrayed in forthcoming film Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story.

While producers are on the lookout for an unknown to play Gaga, the woman herself is believed to be raging over the news.

Insecure and needy

A source said: "She's furious, she's cringing at the thought of her life being exposed on television.

"Gaga doesn't want it getting out because it will portray her as insecure and needy. [She] wants to be seen as powerful and strong."

TV network Lifetime originally bought the rights to the movie - which is being written by Norman Snider and is based on Maureen Callahan's 2010 book Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga - although Life & Style magazine reports they are now being offered elsewhere.

The eccentric star is not normally one to shy away from publicity, and even admits she "needs" to be in the spotlight.

She told Vanity Fair magazine: "I love show business. I need it. It's like breath.

"I only know the happiness of putting a smile on someone's face from the stage."
