Angelina Jolie as Maleficent
Los Angeles  - Lana Del Rey sings Once Upon A Dream in the new Maleficent trailer.

The Born to Die hitmaker's seductive voice features in the new clip for the film which will focus on the untold story of evil fairy Maleficent - who will be portrayed by Angelina Jolie - from the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty.

The trailer - which was debuted at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles - hears Rey give her own haunting take on the song with the lyrics: "I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam."

The newly unveiled scenes show Jolie floating into the King's house and placing a spell on his daughter as well as a battle scene between the King and his men and Maleficent's woodland creatures, in the film which is based on fairy-tales The Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault and Little Briar Rose' by the Brothers Grimm.

Once Upon A Dream is not 27-year-old Lana's first movie theme tune. She was up for a Grammy Award  for her track 'Young and Beautiful' which featured in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Casey Mulligan.

Maleficent will be released on May 30, 2014.
