London - Liam Neeson has been spotted on the set of The Dark Knight Rises.
The 59-year-old actor previously starred as Henri Ducard/Ra's al Ghul in the 2005 movie Batman Begins, and according to HitFix, he was seen in front of the cameras in London on Monday.
The character is Bruce Wayne/Batman's mentor and nemesis in the first instalment and dies at the end, but in the original comics he has the ability to regenerate, sparking speculation he could return.
Dream sequence
It is not known if the scene shot was part of a dream sequence or will lead to more substantial involvement.
Liam has previously claimed he would not be in the Christopher Nolan-directed project as he had not been asked.
He said: "That rumour is totally not true. In the comic books, Ra's al Ghul goes into a life bath of some sort and immerses himself to become immortal; So that's probably where that comes from.
"But no-one's approached me with an offer. I'd like to if it happens."
The Dark Knight Rises is the last film in the series to be directed by Christopher, and features an all-star cast including Christian Bale (Batman), Anne Hathaway (Catwoman) and Sir Michael Caine (Alfred).
Tom Hardy also stars as villainous Bane.
