Liam Neeson writing script with Bono

Los Angeles - Liam Neeson is writing a movie script with Bono.

The actor has been working with the U2 singer on the story for the last "six years" and he is very excited about the project.

Neeson revealed: "We chat, or with him a lot of the time I just listen. "He's a wonderful man. He's got an idea for a script which we've been working on for the past six years."

The story focuses on the Irish showband movement in the 1970s, but although Neeson is one of the writers he has not revealed if he wants to star in the film if it gets made.

The 62-year-old actor has become a major action star in the last decade and his latest role in A Walk Among The Tombstones sees him on the hunt for a drug-dealer's kidnapped wife.

Although Neeson is portrayed as fearless on screen he admits he has plenty of fears and phobias in real life.

He told The Independent website: "I do have a fear of heights but my son and I recently climbed this little peak called Mollie's Nipple in Utah. It's only 3,000 ft or something but I was shit-scared, especially getting nearer the summit. It wasn't pickaxe time but it was pretty steep. Everybody says don't look down but you have to look down. It was scary but I'm glad I did it. I did it for my son."
