Los Angeles - Lindsay Lohan is in talks for a role in Superman: Man of Steel.
The troubled actress – who left rehab after a court-ordered stint last month – is said to be determined to get her career back on track and has set her sights on landing a part opposite Henry Cavill in the forthcoming reboot of the superhero franchise.
A source said: "It's true, she's in the talking stage now.
Refused to comment
"Lindsay wants a part in this movie bad. Ever since news broke that Henry Cavill was cast, she did everything in her power to track down his number and try and set up a meeting with him and the studio."
However, the insiders refused to comment on whether Lindsay was in the running for the female lead of Lois Lane – which Olivia Wilde and Kristen Stewart have previously been linked with – saying only it was a "major" part.
Lindsay’s mother Dina Lohan said: "We really can't make a comment at this time."
Making a comeback
The 24-year-old beauty has had a troubled personal life in recent months, enduring a three-month stint in rehab and serving 12 days in prison as part of a sentence for breaching the terms of probation set for a 2007 driving under the influence conviction.
Friends of the star say she is determined to land a high-profile role to re-establish her credentials as an actress.
A source said: "She's serious about making a comeback. No alcohol, no drugs. She wants people to remember why she was famous in the first place, and that's because she's talented."
