Love Hewitt to direct first film

Los Angeles - Jennifer Love Hewitt is to direct her first feature film Wail Till Helen Comes.

The Ghost Whisperer actress - who has also gone behind the camera for several episodes of the show - will direct and produce the ghost story, which tells the tale of a family who move in to a strange house that turns out to be haunted.

The script - which has been adapted from the novel of the same name by Mary Downing Hahn - will focus on a 12-year-old girl, the eldest of three children who discovers the ghost of a young female who may be a danger to the family.

AJ Rinella and Victoria Sanchez Mandrykis will co-produce the movie with Jennifer while Manual Freedman will executive produce.

Jennifer is currently looking for a cast and is expecting to start filming this summer.

There is no release date yet.

The actress received her first Golden Globe Awards nomination this year for best actress performance in a miniseries or motion picture made for television for her role in the made-for-TV movie, The Client List but lost out to Clare Danes in Temple Grandin.
